Our family is Orthodox Christian and this year (2012) we celebrated Easter (or Pascha), a week later than Catholic Easter. On Good and Holy Friday, we remember how Christ washed the feet of his disciples by re-enacting it in church, wherein the priest washes the feet of 12 parishioners.
Similarly, we did this wonderful Holy Feet activity at home with our two daughters as a way to re-inforce the story and message of the gospel. They loved it! In fact, after we washed the feet of our daughters, our youngest (who is 5), insisted on washing our feet, as well!
Thank you for this excellent idea!
